2008 Feast of Tabernacles
In Tennessee’s Cumberland Mountains
Evening of October 15 - 23
Yahweh’s Restoration Ministry has once more reserved the group camp at Pickett State Park (directions) located in Jamestown, TN near the picturesque Cumberland Mountains from the evening of October 15 - 23 for the Feast of Tabernacles 2008.
This year promises to be a blessing for all in attendance. Throughout the Feast there will be scheduled worship services and thought-provoking studies. In addition, there will be several planned activities for the entire family, including: a group hike, bowling, wiener roast, and much more. It is the goal of Yahweh’s Restoration Ministry to organize and coordinate a Feast that will be a blessing that every age group will remember for years to come.
Group Camp Lodging
The group camp at Pickett State Park contains six large bunkhouse buildings with heat and air (note: currently all bunkhouse rooms at the group camp are reserved). Each bunkhouse building contains two sleeping quarters, with six bunk beds and double sinks in each room (note: some find the bunk beds in the sleeping quarters somewhat small; depending on personal preference those staying in a sleeping quarter may also want to bring an air mattress). In addition to the two sleeping quarters, there is a center common room in each bunkhouse, which if needed is used as an additional sleeping quarter. Those who stay in this third room will receive a $50 discount from the sleeping quarter rate and will need to bring an air mattress or other sleeping arrangements. The center common rooms are only used on as needed basis and cannot be reserved directly. Spaces for basic tenting and RVs are also available. No immediate water or electric hookups are located at the group camp.
Except for special needs or circumstances, due to the limited number of rooms at the group camp, we regrettably will not be able to allow single persons to reserve their own bunkhouse room. Therefore, those who are single staying in a bunkhouse room will be required to share the room with other feastgoers (of the same gender). For those with a sleeping disorder that might disturb others, the ministry would request that they consider reserving a cabin at the main park or stay in a tent or RV at the group camp. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Reservations for the group camp are to be made through Yahweh’s Restoration Ministry. Bunkhouse sleeping quarters are $225 and spaces for basic tenting and RVs are $75 for the entire duration of the Feast (note: there is no daily rate for lodging at the group camp). In addition, those staying at either the main park or group camp must send in a reservation form with the non-refundable $35 supply charge, which will be applied toward meeting hall, kitchen, and bathroom supplies.
The group camp also contains a large meeting hall with a communal kitchen. The kitchen features a walk in refrigerator and freezer, icemaker, microwave, coffeemaker, dishwasher and industrial grill and oven. For bathroom and shower faculties there are two bathhouse buildings centrally located at the group camp.
Main Park Lodging
In addition to the group camp, the main camp also offers 32 campsites with full hookups. All campsites are available on a first-come, first-serve basis (note: the ministry no longer has cabins reserved at the main park). Motel Lodging
Also, for those who rather stay in a motel room several brethren gave a favorable report to the Big South Fork Motor Lodge (Jamestown, TN, (931) 879-4230), which is approximately ten miles from the group camp. If you think you may need a motel room, the ministry would encourage you to call and reserve a room several months in advance. Due to the location and seasonal events, this hotel often fills months before the Feast.
The location near the Cumberland Mountains makes Pickett State Park an ideal site for one to truly appreciate Yahweh’s creative work, to escape the world, and a place for those of like faith to rejoice at one of the most memorable times of the year! “You shall observe the Feast of Tabernacles seven days, when you have gathered from your threshing floor and from your winepress. And you shall rejoice in your feast, you and your son and your daughter, your male servant and your female servant and the Levite, the stranger and the fatherless and the widow, who are within your gates. Seven days you shall keep a sacred feast to Yahweh your Elohim in the place which Yahweh chooses, because Yahweh your Elohim will bless you in all your produce and in all the work of your hands, so that you surely rejoice.” - Deut 16:13-15
