Proverbs

Proverbs is a book in the Bible. A book filled with hundreds of wise sayings, called proverbs. These proverbs teach us how to live for Yahweh and how to live with friends and family. Solomon, the son of David, and the king of Israel wrote most of the proverbs.

Here are some good proverbs to remember…

My son, keep the teaching of your father,
and do not turn away from the teaching of your mother.
Hold them always to your heart.
Tie them around your neck.
They will lead you when you walk.
They will watch over you when you sleep,
and they will talk with you when you wake up.
Proverbs 6:20-22

The stick and strong words bring wisdom,
but a child who gets his own way brings shame to his mother.
Proverbs 29:15

Hate starts fights, but love covers all sins.
Proverbs 10:12

There is one whose foolish words cut like a sword,
but the tongue of the wise brings healing.
Lips that till the truth will last forever,
but a lying tongue lasts only for a little while.
Lying is in the heart of those who plan what is bad,
but those who plan peace have joy.
No trouble comes upon those who are right with Yahweh,
but the sinful are filled with trouble.
Yahweh hates lying lips,
but those who speak the truth are His joy.
Proverbs 12:18-22
